Charge Score 16 In Win Over Bandits

McKinney, TX - (August 9, 2016) –  The Charge overcame an early 3-0 deficit exploding for 10 runs in the fifth on their way to a 16-6 win over the Chicago Bandits.  The Charge collected fourteen hits.  Every Dallas starter reached had a hit, highlighted by Lauren Haeger and Kaitlyn Richardson.  Haeger was three-for-four with two doubles and three RBI.  Richardson homered and doubled, scoring three times.  The win was the Charge's 17th, tying their inaugural season win total.

Cheridan Hawkins picked up her second win of the season in the circle going five innings allowing four runs on five hits.  Sara Moulton took the loss for the Bandits leaving after three and one-third innings.  She gave up five runs on six hits.

The Bandits opened the scoring in the third inning.  Three hits including a Danielle Zymkowitz double gave Chicago a 3-0 lead.

The Charge responded with doubles from Richardson and Brittany Schutte, cutting the lead to 3-1.

In the fourth the home team took the lead, scoring four runs.  Kylee Lahners and Haeger doubled.  After a Chelsea Forkin single, Nadia Taylor tied the game with a sacrifice fly to center.  Richardson gave the Charge the lead with a two-run bomb that made the score 5-3.

Chicago cut the lead in half in the next frame.  Again, Zymkowitz hit delivered the run.

The Charge put the game out of reach in the bottom of the fifth with 10 runs on five hits, six walks, two illegal pitches and two wild pitches.  Dallas sent 13 batters to the plate in the inning.  Contributing to the merry-go-round with their bats were Taylor Gadbois who tripled in front of a Renada Davis homer.  Late in the inning, Lauren Haeger hit her second double of the game.  When the inning was over the Charge lead 15-4.

Chicago got two back in the sixth on two hits and a Charge error before Dallas got one of those runs back on a bases loaded walk to close out the scoring.

The Charge raised their record to 17-28.  The Bandits fell to 22-24.  The Charge continue their season ending home stand with game two of a three game set against the Bandits Wednesday night in McKinney.
