Rebellion Shut Out Charge

Washington, PA  (August 5, 2016) - The Pennsylvania Rebellion and the Dallas Charge played Friday night in the first game of a weekend series that wraps up the home schedule for the PA Rebellion. Thanks to a stellar pitching performance and a couple of big swings the Rebellion picked up the win by a final score of 3-0.

The scoring started in the bottom of the 2nd inning when PA Left Fielder Alexa Peterson reached base via a walk. Rebellion Third Baseman Cheyenne Cordes made the Charge pay for the free pass by smashing a two-run bomb over the left centerfield fence. Her 3rd homer of the season put the Rebellion ahead 2-0.

Pennsylvania would add to the lead in the bottom of the 3rd. Designated Player Stacey Porter hit her first home run as a member of the Rebellion, and extended the lead to 3-0.

That was more than enough run support for Rebellion Pitcher Dallas Escobedo. The 3rd year player out of Arizona State had a no-hit bid going until the 5th inning, when Charge Catcher Vicky Galasso finally broke her team into the hit column.

Escobedo continued rolling right on into the 7th inning where she completed her night by striking  out the side in order, including the final batter on three pitches, to get the win.
