Charge Lose Pitcher's Duel to Dawgs

The Woodlands, TX - (July 22, 2016) – Morgan Melloh tossed a gem Friday night in the Woodlands against the Scrap Yard Dawgs, but came up the hard luck loser 1-0.  Melloh allowed just four hits but was out dueled by the Dawgs Monica Abbott who shutout the Charge, holding them to just three hits.

In the end it was two walks and a two out error that were the Charge's undoing.  After recording two outs in the bottom of the seventh, Melloh walked back-to-back hitters before an errant throw on a ground ball allowed the only and winning run to score.  It was the Charge's only error of the game.

Renada Davis, Taylor Gadbois and Lauren Haeger each recorded hits for the Charge.

The Charge fell to 11-21 overall.  The second place Dawgs moved to 21-13.  The Charge will take on the Dawgs again Saturday night.
