Melloh Tosses Complete Game Two-Hitter, Charge Win

Arkon, OH - (July 16, 2016) - Morgan Melloh threw a complete game two-hitter Saturday night and Ashley Burkhardt hit her first career home run as the Dallas Charge snapped their three game losing skid, beating the Akron Racers 3-0.

Melloh improved to 2-4 on the season, striking out eight and walking just three.  She was perfect through three innings before surrendering the only two hits Akron had in the fourth.  After a one out walk that loaded the bases, Melloh fanned two to get out of the only real trouble she would face.

The Charge scored one run in the third, fourth and fifth innings.  Taylor Gadbois drove in Danielle Henderson who had doubled to open the scoring and provide the Charge with a 1-0 lead.  Dallas managed four singles in the fourth.  Kylee Lahners scored on a Kaitlyn Richardson hit to right.  Dallas' last run would come from Burkhardt's long ball to right center, pushing the lead to 3-0.

The Charge moved back into fifth place ahead of the Rebellion, improving to 10-18 on the season.  The Racers dropped to 18-12.  The Charge will take on the Racers in the rubber match Sunday afternoon in Akron.
