Charge Fall to Racers in Eight Innings

Arkon, OH (July 15, 2016) - The Dallas Charge lost their third game in a row and third on this 10 game road trip in Akron to the second place racers 5-4 in eight innings.

Lauren Haeger got the start for the Charge going seven innings.  She allowed four runs on six hits.  Haeger fanned six and walked four.  She left the game after the seventh with the scored tied at four.  

The Charge offense mustered five total hits, four off of Racer starter Aimee Creger.  The big blow came off the bat of Renada Davis in the top of the six.  Davis delivered a grand slam over the centerfield wall to give the Charge a 4-2 lead that lasted until of the bottom of seventh.

The Racers plated two in the bottom of their last at bat to force extra innings.  Cheridan Hawkins came on for the Charge in the eighth, recording just one out before the Racers scored the winning run.  The run came home without a hit.  Hawkins hit two batters who were then sacrificed over to second and third.  A subsequent wild pitch ended the game in favor of the Racers 5-4.  

The two squads will face off again Saturday in game two of the three game set.
