Rebellion Win Big, Sweep Charge

McKinney, TX - (July 5, 2016) – The PA Rebellion pounded the Dallas Charge Tuesday night 13-5 winning the second game of a two game set.  The Rebellion scored 13 runs on 13 hits, including three home runs.  One of the three bombs was a second inning grand slam off the bat of Alisa Goler.

The Rebellion had at least one base runner in every inning as the Charge pitchers could not solve the riddle that was the PA offense.  After working out of trouble in the first inning, Charge starter Morgan Melloh loaded the bases in second before giving up a full count grand slam to Goler, staking the visitors to a 4-0 lead.  Pitching behind batters regularly, Melloh lasted just one and two-thirds innings.  She walked two, hit two and gave up four hits.

After Goler’s big blast Melloh loaded the bases before giving way to Andi Williamson, who coaxed a fly out from Lindsey Stephens to finish the frame.

The Rebellion continued to pour it on.  A wild pitch in the fourth brought home rookie Chaley Brickey.  The Rebellion plated five more in the fifth on just three hits ending the night for Williamson in favor of Jill Compton.  PA added two more in the fifth and a single run in the sixth.

Danielle Henderson hit her second home run of the season in the bottom of the sixth.  The blast that reached the water in centerfield made the score 12-1.

In the sixth, Haylie Flynn relieved Dallas Escobedo and promptly gave up four irrelevant runs to the Charge.

Taylor Gadbois, Vicky Galasso and Henderson each had a multi-hit game and one RBI for the Charge.  Henderson scored twice and Renada Davis knocked in two.

The Charge dropped to 7-15.  The Rebellion raised their overall record to 10-16.  The Charge head to San Diego to take on the USSSA Pride on Friday and Saturday.
