McKinney, TX – June 9, 2016 – The Dallas Charge have signed three-time NFCA All-American pitcher Cheridan Hawkins. The current USA Elite Team member was taken by the Charge with the 29th overall pick in the 2016 NPF Draft and is one of the most decorated players to ever play at Oregon. The 5’10” lefty played on both the US Junior National Team and Senior National Team in the summer of 2013, winning a silver medal at the World Junior Championships.
“I am extremely grateful to have the opportunity to play for the Dallas Charge,” Hawkins said. “I look forward to representing the Charge this summer and having the opportunity to play softball with some of the most elite players in the country. I can't wait to join the team in Texas and play some more softball."

Along with her All-American honor, in 2016 Hawkins was also named PAC-12 Pitcher of the Year, PAC 12- Softball Scholar Athlete of the Year and Academic All-American, her third selection. In 2015 Hawkins was one of three finalists for the USA Softball Player of the Year following 2014 where she was Top-10 Finalist for the same award.
“Adding Cheridan to our pitching staff really helps round out our bullpen,” Charge General Manager, Kevin Shelton said. “She is lefthander who has already left a proud legacy. We know she’ll bring her experience and tenacity to our team and the league. She has a solid prescience in the circle, one that our fans will gravitate too. Cheridan complements our solid group of righties well. We’re rooting for her while she is with the USA Elite Team this summer and look forward to her joining us mid-June.”
