Charge Players Committed to the Community

During their time off, some of the players from the Dallas Charge visited with Rae’s Hope and Children’s Medical Center Dallas, the flagship hospital of Children’s HealthSM.

Rae’s Hope is an organization in Dallas that focuses on helping at-risk girls in south Dallas through physical fitness and healthy living, with a focus on volleyball. The organization provides various preventive programs for girls of all ages.

On June 25, Danielle Henderson and Angeline Quiocho spoke to the girls from the organization about the importance of being active and participating in sports. Afterwards, the two played volleyball with the girls and participated in various volleyball drills. They loved having the opportunity to interact with the girls and share their love of sports with them.

On June 9, the Dallas Charge hosted a toy drive in honor of the theme The Night is Young.  On June 26, Angeline Quiocho, Danielle Henderson, Mikey Kenney, and Kaylyn Castillo donated the toys raised to Children’s Medical Center Dallas and took this opportunity to visit with some of the patients and their family members.

From painting to playing with Barbie’s to video games, the players had the opportunity to interact with the children and provide a fresh energy to aid in their coping.  The players that attended enjoyed being able to bring joy to the children in the hospital and are looking forward to being able to go back.
