Washington, PA – July 27, 2015 – Nadia Taylor drove in all three of the Dallas Charge runs late in the game giving the visitors a just their second win in Washington, PA this season in five tries. Thanks to Taylor, the Charge overcame a two-run deficit. She doubled home two in the sixth and the led off the ninth with a solo bomb to seal the deal. Jolene Henderson went the distance for the Charge, allowing just two runs, one earned, on eight hits. She fanned four. Dallas Escobedo got the loss, going eight and one-third innings. The Rebellion starter allowed three runs on five hits, striking out three. Henderson improved to 3-7 while Escobedo dropped to 2-8.
In the first, Haruna Sakamoto singled and move to second on an error. Alexa Peterson followed with a single up the middle to give the Rebellion an early 1-0 lead.
The Rebellion stretched their lead to two when Peterson doubled to right and Goler singled to center to bring her home.
The Charge fought back in the sixth. Renada Davis led things off with an eight pitch walk. Eri Yamada moved her to second with an infield single. Lauren Haeger moved both runners up with a sacrifice bunt. Taylor delivered two of her RBI with a ground rule double, tying the game.
Taylor finished the scoring the top the ninth with a lead off blast to left, her third of the season.
The win improved the Charge’s record to 14-23 and pushed the Rebellion to five full games behind at 9-28. Both teams have 11 games remaining. The Charge and Rebellion are fourth and fifth in the NPF standing respectively. Only the top four teams will reach the post season Championship Series.
The Charge will take on the Rebellion again tomorrow night in Washington, PA.
