Washington, PA – July 28, 2015 – The Charge mustered just four hits against Rebellion pitching Tuesday night, never mounting a serious threat in a 3-0 defeat in Washington, PA. Emma Johnson and Haley Wagner combined for the shutout, each giving up two hits. Johnson got the win tossing the first four innings. Wagner earned the save with three solid innings of work.
Lauren Haeger took the loss for the Charge allowing three runs on just four hits. She struck out three and walked two.
The Rebellion scored two in the fourth. A hit, fielders choice and walk loaded the bases for Kristyn Sandberg who grounded out to third scoring Olivia Watkins. With two outs Mandy Ogle singled up the middle to score Haruna Sakamoto.
In the sixth, the home squad added one more on a Alexa Peterson double that scored Watkins.
The loss dropped the Charge to 14-24 while the Rebellion improved to 10-28, four games behind the Charge.
The Charge are back in action on July 31 at Akron.
