Charge Drop First Game in Championship Series

Hoover, AL – August 14, 2015 – Cat Osterman kept the Charge bats quiets while Megan Wiggins and Madison Shipman each delivered three RBI to lead the USSSA Pride to an 8-1 victory in the first game of the NPF Championship Series Semi-Final.  Osterman allowed just one hit in her 5.1 innings of work.  Wiggins was 2 for 3, scored twice, homered and doubled.  Shipman was 3 for 3 also with a long ball and two-bagger.

The Charge managed four total hits.  Kaylyn Castillo accounted for the one Charge run with a solo blast to left off Pride reliever Hannah Rogers.

Cat Osterman got the win, while Lauren Haeger suffered the loss.  She allowed five runs on eight hits in five innings.  Vanessa Stokes gave up three runs on four hits in the sixth.

The Charge will take on the Pride in game two of the semi-final series today at 2pm Central at the Hoover Met in Hoover, AL.  A win will force a deciding game tonight at 8pm.
