Haeger Invited to 2016 USA Softball Women’s National Team Selection Camp

Friday, October 16, 2016 – Lauren Haeger and 42 other women have been invited by USA Softball to the 2016 USA Softball Women’s National Team Selection Camp on January 2-8, 2016 at Bill Barber Park – Irvine, California.   The Dallas Charge 7th overall pick, is a well decorated Florida Alum was a key component in the Charge’s successful inaugural season. Congrats Lauren!  Some of her accolades include:  2015 SEC Female Athlete of the Year, 2015 Honda Award Winner, 2015 USA Collegiate Player of the Year, 2015 WCWS MVP and Champion.  In 2011 Haeger threw a complete game to win a major championship, the gold-medal game of the ISF Junior World Championship.  She is a two-time collegiate champion and brings versatility to any roster, with adept ability both in the circle and at the plate.  Lauren is the only player in NCAA history to collect 70 wins and slam 70 homers.

In addition to Haeger’s invitation, Ally Carda (UCLA) and Janie Takeda (Oregon) were both invited.  Carda and Takeda were the selected 8th and 9th respectively in the 2015 NPF draft by the Charge, but spent to the 2015 Summer playing for Team USA.
